i have a husband BUT i also have a boyfriend. yup...Jack Johnson.

i met jack and kim through Hoa' Aina O Makaha. I sit on the board of directors and jack is a HUGE donor to our farm. jack and kim johnson have completely changed my views and attitude towards caring for the earth. They were big encouragers to begin cloth diapering, composting, and growing our own food.

speaking of Hoa' Aina O Makaha...i wanted to let you know of our Open House that will be taking place on May 1st, 2010 from 2PM -5PM. this year we will be celebrating the 9 Ahupua'a of Wai'anae. it is absolutely FREE! food, crafts, and music (maybe a song or 2 from jack). our family (and 10,000 others) celebrated earth day by supporting jack and kim's foundation (Kokua Foundation) at the Kokua Festival.

i didnt receive the news i was looking for in todays trial for Baby J.

i was shocked when i heard they wanted to transition him back home. now i'm just pissed off.

there is not one person in that court room that would leave their child alone with a pedophile! YET they are going to send this HELPLESS baby to live with her because she took a FREAKIN parenting class!!!

i'm seriously loosing my mind - this verdict has got me praying for all kinds of evil...that just doesn't make sense.

did i mention i am upset.

a friend of mine lost... {hawaii foster care blog}

A friend of mine lost her mom this past weekend. i had been wanting a scripture to share with her to give her comfort - when really - god was speaking to me and i was comforting myself.

"I have heard your prayers I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you". (2 kings 20:5)

After i read it twice it made sob like a baby...as i was feeling uncertain about the upcoming trial for baby J. so i am praying.

i know i always say if you help me with this one thing i wont ask for anything again...well - here i am. asking for just ONE more thing *wink wink*

on Thursday, Judge Karen M. Radius will make a decision that will either have us gaining a son or losing a son. i will be one devastated little lady if i have to send him away.

i trust no one. you know that. i have issues. but. i place all my trust in you.

Baby Ella was visiting our island for the week and her auntie asked if i could follow along at the beach. It was so nice meeting you princess...thanks for looking at me a few times.

we recently got a new Goodwill in Kapolei and although i LOVE savers...i will never go back!!

Goodwill was SO much cheaper!! and they had some really great things! i did spend a lot of money ($30.00) but i got ALOT of good things too...

one of my favorite family's is about to add another member - for his mommys sake - hopefully sooner rather than later. This baby boy will definitely be spoiled by his big sisters! i was lucky enough to get some photos of his glowing mother before baby arrives. Here are a few of my favorites photos.

i was sad to read that Healthy Start is on the verge of losing their funding, and will no longer act as a safety net for hawaiis children.

i know i mentioned him before, but he's worth talking about again - I had a foster son, baby m. i believe whole heartedly that baby m would have died if it were not for healthy start. healthy start workers discovered him living with his homeless mother, on a beach. skin so dried it resembled a snake. at 14 months he barely weighed 14 pounds. no function to crawl, or sit. barely a voice to cry with.

now he is a growing, smart, strong, 4 year old. thriving because there are programs in place to save children that can't save themselves.

Right now in our state the house has proposed a budget that would DEVASTATE many DHS programs and contacts. i am asking that you email Representative Marcus Oshiro (email: repmoshiro@Capitol.hawaii.gov) and Senator Donna Mercado Kim (email: senkim@Capitol.hawaii.gov) by Wednesday, April 7th. Please help to protect and nurture our children. Below is a sample letter you may send.

meet my friend jessica. she is beautiful. smart. funny. wow...she sounds a lot like myself. But she's got one up on me - she is an AMAZING ARTIST.

i am at the beach right now...ALONE. it feels really nice. Beautiful scenery, fresh air, and starbucks in hand.

i am glad i have this alone time to reflect on Easter. i feel like the meaning just got away from me and am pretty upset with myself that if you asked my kids what easter is - they'd probably refer to some goofy bunny.

on this day, over 2000 years ago, jesus was crucified. he was beaten - for me. spat on - for me, and hung on a cross to die - for me. i dont think i give that enough thought.

thank god he only requires us to come - as...us. broken. lost. tired. sinners. you can come just as you are.
