i am not a good cook... {hawaii family blog}

i am not a good cook by any means, that's why i love me some EASY recipes! Here is one from the Kamehameha Schools Project Grad Cookbook - it was delish!

Mochiko Chicken

2lb chicken
5 tbsp shoyu (soy sauce for the mainlanders)
4 tbsp sugar
1/4 chopped green onion
2 cloves of garlic, minced
2 eggs
4 tbsp cornstarch
4 tbsp mochiko flour

Combine shoyu, sugar, onion, garlic, and eggs in large bowl - mix. add in cornstarch, mochiko flour. marinate for a few hours. Heat oil in pan, and fry until golden brown. Add sesame seed and onion to garnish.

  1. looks wonderful-glad you dumbed it down for us mainlanders :)

  2. This recipe sounds awesome. What's mochiko flour? Can I get it in the mainland?

  3. damaris - i think it's in the asian section. in a white box. you can also use it to make mochi....mmmmmm now that's good stuff.

  4. They have to cook to graduate from Kamehameha? I knew I should have put my kids in that school! Looks yummy.

  5. Puna - no. it was a collection of family recipes to benefit kamehemaha...although making it a requirement wouldn't be a bad idea, then maybe my hubby could cook dinner!

  6. I love this recipe...and go figure, I am a mainlander too...:)

  7. Thanks so much for sharing....we cant get enough of it!

  8. How much oil and at what temperature?
