although i'm not a professional...{hawaii children's photographer}

although i'm not a professional photographer it's something that i LOVE doing and am very passionate about. this week at I Heart Faces it's a "Random Acts of Kindness" week, paying special tribute to an organization called Inspiration Through Art . the object is to show how you have used your photography for good.

Baby Jaliyah was born while her father was serving our country in Iraq.

i photographed her when she was born, so he wouldn't have to miss a thing.

and i got to capture her first meeting of her with daddy

and their first time together as a family.

a few months later, her mom left on deployment, and missed her 1st birthday.

so thankful for soldiers who sacrifice these special moments.

    Such joyous moments in a parent's life... It's sad they had to miss them, but I'm sure they will be eternally grateful to you for capturing the moments for them.

  15. Wow-- what an awesome way to show them you're thankful!

    And as for foster care, I don't think it's that my husband is scared of getting attached-- more fearful of the inevitable life change that will happen since we don't have any kids of our own yet. Also, with working closely with foster kids in the past, we both know that it's unfortunately often that fingers get pointed at the males in the household for one reason or another. I think it's just a responsibility that he's not quite ready to step up to the plate on yet. I'm sure I could talk him into it, but I think it will be much better for him to want to do it on his own-- I can be patient! :)
