i am at the beach... {hawaii family blogger}

i am at the beach right now...ALONE. it feels really nice. Beautiful scenery, fresh air, and starbucks in hand.

i am glad i have this alone time to reflect on Easter. i feel like the meaning just got away from me and am pretty upset with myself that if you asked my kids what easter is - they'd probably refer to some goofy bunny.

on this day, over 2000 years ago, jesus was crucified. he was beaten - for me. spat on - for me, and hung on a cross to die - for me. i dont think i give that enough thought.

thank god he only requires us to come - as...us. broken. lost. tired. sinners. you can come just as you are.

  2. Don't beat yourself up about what you did or didn't do with your kids for Easter this year. But if you want to start planning ahead for next year check out this great idea. We made these with our boy on Friday evening. You should have seen the look on his face when I told him we had to leave them in the oven 'til Sunday. Definitely helped illustrate the true story of Easter!
